Masculine or Feminine Camera Shots. Examples and Justification.

Masculine
- Because the male character dominates the female character with his height
- The character in the background are also male and are presented to be holding guns
OR
- The woman has the power in the shot as she is acting in control this shows masculinity
- The men in the background also appear to be on thew side of the woman.
- The location allows the audience to look straight at the characters at the front because the lines from the building leads them to it.

Masculine
- It is more of a low angle than a high angle, giving the woman power, therefore masculinity
- The men in the background are looking at the woman with worried facial expressions which contrast with the womans blank cold stare showing that she has the power as she is not affected by whatever is affecting the men

Feminine
- The woman in the shot is positioned below the man, her soft confused expression shows her vulnerability to the man with the strong decisive features positioned above her
- The proximity between the two characters expresses emotion between them, allowing the audience to see a relationship and bond between Bella and Edward.

This specific scene allows the audience to follow the characters in a feminine way. The shot uses pans, tilts and tracks to convey this, over all the shot is smooth therefore feminine. The quality of the movement shows the characters importance in the scene too.

Masculine
- Low angle shot gives the woman in the shot power, the gun is a very masculine object giving the woman power and masculates the woman which  supports the idea of masculinity given by the camera shot
- The gun being closest to the camera draws focus to it making it the predominant object in the shot whereas the woman's face is far back so you cannot see any facial expressions masculanising her because she is showing the male trait of emotionlessness.

TV Drama Male Stereotype Moodboard.

This is a moodboard using shots from the TV Drama series Ashes to Ashes. We chose this TV Drama to take the shots from because the main character Gene Hunt is the epitome of a male stereotype. He belittles women and sees himself as a male to be the most dominant. He constantly shows and abuses his authority as the alpha male to show that the male characters need to be in control. He also drinks and smokes and has a love of violence. This makes him the perfect subject for a moodboard depicting the typical male stereotype.
